Marton Bodonyi
A full-stack developer who's pretty good at design and knows how to communicate with people? Who is this guy? I'm Marty, developer, entrepreneur and bootcamp teacher based out of Melbourne.
I developed my first website over 20 years ago, in primary school. It was a Homer Simpson fan site called 'Homercool', I built with Microsoft Word, and it had a flash menu in case you're wondering why I don't drive a Lamborghini.
More recently things have gotten serious, with my focus being on healthcare - building software to help with vaccine logistics, pre-conception genetic carrier screening and, in my current role, epilepsy management and diagnosis.
I'm also the solo developer on a project called Anycamp, which was featured as iTunes App of the Day in Australia in 2019 🎉 (twice).
While I was at Rome2rio I went on a ux and split testing bender - you can see some of the results of those experiments at http://usabletravel.com. I've also had a great amount of fun teaching coding at LeWagon in Melbourne which was one of my biggest learning and growth experiences.

ESLint, Prettier and Typescript are great tools for keeping codebases clean but what happens if you have a large legacy codebase and you want to add a new rule or tighten some things up? Do you rebuild it or improve what's there? This talk explores the idea of ratcheting rules in large legacy codebases using betterer and some of the experiences we've had tackling a large legacy codebase.
